Historia de la Babesiosis Bovina

La babesiosis bovina fue reportada por primera vez en 1868 en Estados Unidos, con un brote que causó la muerte de 15,000 reses tras la importación de ganado de Texas. Se cree que esta enfermedad fue introducida en el sur del país por el ganado traído desde México durante la colonización española. En Australia, ya se tenía constancia de esta fiebre en 1870, posiblemente introducida a principios del siglo XIX.

Babesiosis

Disease caused by apicomplexan parasites of the genus Babesia . In our country, it affects cattle, dogs, and horses.

It is the most important tick-borne disease in cattle.

Rickettsiosis

A disease caused by bacteria that need to lodge inside an organism's cells. It is considered endemic to the Americas and can cause Rocky Mountain spotted fever in humans.

Ehrlichiosis

Disease caused by bacteria that affect the white blood cells of dogs. It causes canine monocytic ehrylchiosis, and infection in humans has been reported.

Anaplasmosis

A disease caused by bacteria of the genus Anaplasma that invades the red blood cells of cattle. Anaplasmosis also affects buffalo, deer, and antelope.

Borreliosis

A bacterial disease caused by the Borrelia spp. genus. Borrelia burgdorferi causes Lyme disease, which affects several organisms, most notably dogs and humans.
